Tax Freedom Day - Canada

Once again this year, the Canadian Fraser Institute has dutifully calculated “Tax Freedom Day”: “The Fraser Institute annually calculates Tax Freedom Day in order to provide a comprehensive and easily understood indicator of the overall tax burden faced by the average Canadian family. Tax Freedom Day is the day in the year by which the average Canadian family has earned enough money to pay all taxes imposed on it by the three levels of Canadian government: federal, provincial, and local. If Canadians were required to pay all taxes up front, they would have to give governments each and every dollar they earned prior to Tax Freedom Day. In 2014, Tax Freedom Day fell on June 9, one day later than 2013 when Tax Freedom Day fell on June 8.”: http://www.fraserinstitute.org/studies/canadians-celebrate-tax-freedom-day-june-9-2014

From a Social Credit perspective, the bulk of this taxation is entirely unnecessary. Eliminate chronic public debts (federal, provincial, and municipal) and you eliminate the taxes necessary to service these debts with their accompanying interest charges. Eliminate welfare, workfare, public pensions, employment insurance, and other related social programmes by providing everyone with a National Dividend funded debt-free in conjunction with a debt-free National Discount and you eliminate the tax money necessary to fund the programmes themselves and their accompanying bureaucracies. Eliminate most forms of taxation by replacing all of them with simple sales taxes and user fees (when appropriate) and the tremendous bureaucracies involved in maintaining the income and property tax systems could also be eliminated. Any individual or group who is genuinely interested in reducing the high levels of taxation under which we labour should take a serious look at Social Credit as it offers the best solution to this particular form of economic oppression.

We in the British Commonwealth should each get hold of this statement made by Arthur A. Chresby a Research Analyst in Constitutional Law and apply it to our own country.
Go to this website to see what it entails:- http://www.peoplesmandate.iinet.net.au/your_wii_be_done.pdf
This is based on Australia and is a simple, non-technical beginners book of the true legal functions of the Queen, Governor General, State Governors, Parliament and Parliamentarians and the people.
In my mind a politician is your representative in parliament and as such is YOUR servant. A servant only needs to know two words, YES SIR OR MADAM. I remember going to a political meeting and when the candidates were asked to give their definition of Democracy the first one got up and said, "You elect us and we rule you." He obviously didn't know what his true position was which is to serve. A servant. Every candidate said the same thing. They do not know what their position is. In New Zealand here they say they represent the National Party, Labour Party, Greens, whatever,,,, but they do not represent us. They say so. We must take this responsibility onto our shoulders and stop electing these people and then complain that they are not doing this or that till the next election and then elect the same type of person again. Read C H Douglas he points this out very clearly especially in his later years. He only wanted the Money System changed the same as Christ did to allow this to happen. He was hung on a cross in the most dramatic murder of all times, "I came that you may live life more abundantly." He didn't chaff on about more jobs, the amount of tax to be paid, the share market, what the interest was. He wanted you to live more abundantly.

Well Said. But then all the nay-sayers will say "But what about all the jobs these tax regimes and social programs support?" Of course we know the correct answer is "Who cares?" With a guaranteed income, useless jobs and make work projects can and should suffer an unceremonious death - with prejudice. The thinking man should ask himself, "How did our governments fund themselves before Income Tax?" They had expensive armies and Ministries of this and that. The answer is they created the funds out of thin air - as was their prerogative. That prerogative is even embedded in the US Constitution Article 1. The Bank of Canada Act also contains it.

  • Douglas Social Credit: Untying the Gordian Knot
The financial and economic problem that has plagued civilization since the dawn of the industrial age may be described as a Gordian knot[1], i.e., as an intractable problem that cannot be solved within its own conventional framework, but only by thinking outside of the box. Those few of us who have studied both the problem and Douglas’ response to it in-depth have become convinced that Douglas, like a modern-day Alexander, cut this Gordian knot and discovered the correct path for the harmonious resolution of this problem. The irony, however, is that when it comes to effectively and efficiently communicating Douglas’ brilliance to a wider public, the Douglas Social Credit vision for our financial system and economic life may itself be likened to a Gordian knot (not in itself, but in deciding how best to explain it). There are so many issues, positions, evidences, and arguments bound up in the problem…

  • Douglas Social Credit ... By Way Of Metaphor
For whatever reason, Douglas Social Credit seems to exhibit an unusually high informational “barrier to entry” and yet it is vital that as many people as possible would come to understand it as quickly as possible because the financial analysis and remedial proposals of Major C.H. Douglas (1879-1952) are the solution to 90% or more of our financial, economic, political, cultural, environmental, and international problems. In what follows, I will focus on the monetary dimensions of Douglas Social Credit, though the reader should be aware that DSC constitutes a much broader body of thought which incorporates a social philosophy, a political theory, and also a theory of history. Since the easiest way to grasp something new and therefore unknown is to approach it by means of the known, this article relies heavily on metaphors to communicate the truth of Douglas’ vision.
